Another member
of the outstanding program from Cochrane
High School has committed to the University of Calgary for 2017 season.
Defensive
lineman Dylan Gingrich-Hadley has signed a U Sports Letter of Intent and joins
the Dinos after an outstanding career for Cobras under Head Coach Rob McNab. While playing for the Cobras Dylan was a
member of three Provincial 3A Championship teams starting along the defensive
line.
Gingrich-Hadley
came up through the Cochrane Lions Bantam program that plays in the Calgary
Bantam Football League.
The 17-year-old Gingrich-Hadley
has excellent size for a young player being 6’4”, 250 lbs. and is an excellent
athlete playing competitive lacrosse as well as basketball.
“Calgary is a good
football program and has good schooling. It is close to home and a chance to
play with my friends,” stated Gingrich-Hadley who plans to enter the Faculty of
Kinesiology or Arts. Dylan joins fellow Cobras graduates Zach Rabe and Cane
Boklaschuk as members of this year’s Cobras team on the Dinos as well as Justin
Sambu who committed earlier.
“Dylan is a very
athletic defensive lineman and is an explosive player off the line,” states University of Calgary recruiting coordinator Matt
Berry. “He is a good hitter and coming from Cochrane High, he knows how to
win,” Berry
added.
Dylan was a
approached by both UBC and Simon Fraser and is the son of Mark Hadley and
Ruth-Ann Gingrich.
