Trey Dube is a
University of Calgary Dino. The 18-year-old, who will graduate from Henry Wise
Wood in the spring, is another member of the Warriors program to sign a USports
Letter of Intent to play for the Dinos in 2017.
The 6’, 185 lbs.
Dube’s uncle is former University
of Saskatchewan football
alumnus, David Dube, who is a strong supporter of the Huskies football program
in many facets. His father, Michael Dube, also attended the University of Saskatchewan.
“I like what the
Calgary
football program has done the past few years. It also is a chance for me to
play at home with my friends and in front of family,” stated Dube who can play
either cornerback or free safety and was a two-year starter in final two years
of High School football.
Trey was a
member of the Alberta U18 in 2015 that competed in the Canada Cup starting at
free safety. He played his midget and minor football in the Falcons organization
with fellow recruits Daniel Tietz and Matson Tulloch. Dube was also named to
the all-star team in the Calgary Midget League in 2016.
“Trey Dube is
another excellent defensive back from Henry Wise Wood. He is a versatile player
who can returns punts and kickoffs. He is a strong individual tackler with good
range,” states Head Coach Wayne Harris.
Dube, who was
recruited the Universities of Saskatchewan and Toronto, is also excited about playing for
secondary coach Marcello Rapini.
“I have heard
great things about him (Rapini),” stated Dube who played his High School
football for former University
of Calgary defensive back
Cody Ehrmann.
Trey is the son
of Michael and Sharla Dube and plans to enter the Haskayne School of Business.
