The University of Calgary
football Dinos continue to sign outstanding graduates of the Calgary High School
system.
The Dinos
confirmed the signing of 6’6”, 250 lbs. defensive lineman Cole Snyder from the
Bishop O’Byrne Bobcats earlier this month.
Snyder is a
product of the Colts minor football organization where he was a Calgary Midget
football league all-star in 2017 despite only playing football for two seasons.
Cole is
currently a CFC Top 100 graduating High School player for 2018.
An outstanding
athlete, Cole is an excellent basketball player starting on the senior team and
concentrated on basketball until recently.
The 17 year old
Snyder hopes to enter the Haskayne School of Business in 2018 at the U of C. He
was coached in High School by former Canadian Football League player Derek
McCready and played youth football for former University of Calgary Dinos
linebacker Biaggio Iannace.
“The coaching
staff at Calgary
is phenomenal and the best in country. It is a very professional program that I
am looking to be a part of,” stated Snyder who was approached by Saskatchewan, Western, Ottawa
and Toronto but
made no official visits.
“Cole is a big
athletic young man. He has a good motor and can play on either side of ball,”
states Defensive and Recruiting Coordinator Matt Berry.
Cole is the son
of Lorne and Sherry Snyder.
