The University of Calgary Dinos
will have their annual Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation Play in Pink game
Saturday afternoon at 1:00 PM at McMahon Stadium. The Dinos will be wearing
pink socks and will be wearing pink shirts underneath their uniforms. Proceeds
for the sale of the pink items will go towards the fight against cancer. The
Dinos would like thank the support for the pink clothing to Mr. Bill Curtis
(father of Dinos Kicker Alec Curtis), who helped pay for the cost of the
apparel as well as NIKE Canada. The Dinos will also have pink breast cancer
decals on their white helmets.
The game against Saskatchewan marks the
first time the Huskies have been to McMahon Stadium since 2013. The Huskies did
not make the seven hour bus trip west last year due to the unbalanced schedule.
Saskatchewan has reeled off two wins after
dropping their first two games and once again is a CIS Top Ten ranked team
after starting the season ranked sixth. Despite being short a half dozen
starters Saskatchewan
won a decisive road game at UBC last weekend and is ranked eighth in the latest
Top Ten Rankings.
“I stated at the start of the
season to our guys, that Saskatchewan would be a big challenge as they are an experienced
team and have many quality players,” states Calgary Head Coach Wayne Harris. “They
will be the most experienced and physical opponent we have faced to date.”
