Dinos 2014 Perpetual Energy Training Camp Preview: Offensive Line

It all starts upfront and today we will look at the offensive line for the Dinos in 2014. Last year’s offensive was young but improved during the course of the season gaining valuable experience under the veteran tutelage of Steve Buratto.

Buratto’s group is anchored by second team all-Canadian centre Sean McEwen. McEwen has been a starter since joining the program in 2011 directly from Notre Dame High School in Calgary. Sukh Chungh was also a second team all-Canadian, he returns at guard. The tackle spots, return starters Jordan Filippelli and Braden Schram both of whom started for the first time last year on a regular basis. Sophomore Ryan Sceviour returns after missing most of last year due to injury at the other guard spot. Sceviour gained a starting spot as a true freshman from Bowness High School in 2013, only to be sidelined in the second game of the season. He was a member of Canada’s Under 20 team that played in Kuwait this past summer. Ryan Preuter saw considerable action at various spots along the offensive line will also compete for playing time.

Blue chip recruit Darius Ciraco has outstanding potential at tackle along with red-shirt freshman Matt Hubert. Inside redshirt freshman Tyrel White, freshman Jordan Sylvestre and Tanner Borowicz are promising young interior offensive linemen. Sylvestre is an interesting addition, having played with Florida State 8A Champions Dwyer High School of West Palm Beach. Jordan aCalgary native returns to play for the Dinos and pursue his post-secondary education. Sylvestre played minor football with many current Dinos in the Hilltoppers organization.
