EXPLOSIVE COUGAR NOW A DINO

The University of Calgary football team confirmed that Jamal Noel has signed a Canadian Interuniversity Sport Letter of Intent to attend the University of Calgary and play football for the Dinos. The 5’7”, 165 lbs. Noel has spent the past three seasons playing football for CEGEP Champlain-Lennoxville in Lennoxville, Quebec in the RESQ. While at Champlain-Lennoxville he was a starting inside receiver and return specialist helping his team win the league title this past year.

“I was impressed with the manner the team was run. Everything is run very professional and it is close to being run like a professional program, especially the off-season training program,” states the 21-year-old Noel who has four years of CIS football eligibility remaining and decided to attend Calgary over the University of Guelph.

Noel also liked the level of alumni involvement with the Dinos program. “The alumni are big part of the program and I want to be involved and part of something special like that when I leave the program,” states Noel who currently serves as President of the student body at the CEGEP he is currently attending.

“Jamal is one of the fastest recruits in this year’s class. He is very dynamic whose speed makes him a threat every time he touches the football,” states Calgary offensive coordinator Ryan Sheahan.

Jamal is a native of Chateauguay, a suburb of Montreal and played youth football with newly recruited quarterback Adam Sinagra.

Noel is an excellent student who is fluently bilingual in English and French. He plans to take liberal arts courses with aspirations of entering law school.

Because of CIS regulations, Noel is unable to participate in spring football practice that commences on April 29.

Jamal is the son of Elizabeth Davidson and John Noel.
