March will be a busy month for
University of Calgary Dinos Guard Sukh
Chungh; he is headed to the NFL Super Regional Combine to be held in Phoenix,
AZ., on March 21, 2015. The following weekend he will attend the CFL National
Scouting combine in Toronto.
Chungh is currently ranked
seventh overall in the CFL Draft rankings for 2015. He joined the Dinos in 2011
and spent much of that season on the Defensive side of the ball at Nose Tackle.
In 2012 Chungh gained a starting spot at Guard and was a vital part of two
Conference Championship teams and a key member of the 2013 team that lost in
the Vanier Cup at Laval to the Rouge et Or. He was named a Canada West All-Star
and All-Canadian at Guard in both the 2013 and 2014 seasons.
“This is big opportunity for
Sukh, he can open some eyes down South if he performs well this weekend in
Arizona. He has worked very hard over his time as a Dino and it is great he has
gotten the chance to showcase his talents. For our program it is huge, anytime
our guys get a shot at the NFL, it shows that they have bought into the hard
work this programs asks and are now seeing the results of their efforts.” commented
assistant coach Matt Berry.
The 6’4”, 303 lbs. Chungh is a
native of Port Coquitlam, BC and played for Terry Fox Ravens of the
British Columbia High School Football Association.
