Day 1
Day one of 2013 Spring Camp is in the books. Two hours on the field and one step close to the 2013 season. The field at McMahon Stadium was a buzz with the mingling of old and new, all aboard for the 2013 edition of the Dinos Football. There were many highlights from the Dinos first day on the field in 2013, this report will serve to highlight a few daily.
Top Offensive Returnee
Elie Bouka - WR: Following an injury plagued 2012, Elie had a great off-season and looks ready to dominate the west in 2013. Wednesday night Elie looked a step faster than anyone on the field and a tough cover in one on one drills.
Top Offensive Rookie
Ryan Sceviour - OL: Ryan comes to the Dinos after a great high school career at Bowness. In his first practice with the Dinos, looked strong and confident and played very physically while working with group two offense.
Top Defensive Returnee
Tyler Langlais - DL: With the departure of 4 of the Dinos top 5 linemen from 2012, now is the time for Langlais to emerge. Serving in a back up role in 2012, following a terrific off-season in the weight room Tyler is ready to take charge in 2013. On Day 1 of Spring Camp, Langlais dominated one on one drills and at times looked unblockable.
Top Defensive Rookie
Jeremy Neisz - DL: Joining the Dinos from St. Francis High School in Calgary, Jeremy made an impact on Day 1 of Spring Camp. The young defensive line looked very physical and had a high motor. In the team period to close the day, Jeremy had two sacks while working with the group twos.
Hit of the Day
Cole Van Esch - FB: A rookie from Bishop O'Bryne High School in Calgary. During the interior run period, Cole was a lead blocker on an iso run and delivered a devastating blow to veteran linebacker Alex Ogbongbemiga.
